Overview: New York Public Radio, a premier public media organization, is seeking a fundraising-focused, detail-oriented, and dynamic Corporate and Event Development Manager to join its development team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate and Event Development, this role will support the execution of NYPR’s corporate philanthropy program and event-revenue strategies, with a particular focus on identifying, building, and strengthening philanthropic relationships with corporate partners and ensuring the success of key fundraising events, including NYPR’s flagship event, the annual gala.
The position will focus on identifying, cultivating, and securing corporate sponsorships and philanthropic partnerships that drive revenue for NYPR’s annual gala and other organizational initiatives. The ideal candidate is excited to help build a growing corporate philanthropy program and develop long-term corporate partnerships that support NYPR’s mission.
Responsibilities: The Manager of Corporate and Event Development will be a key partner to the Sr. Director of Corporate and Event Development to develop and implement a comprehensive event and corporate philanthropy strategy:
Corporate Philanthropy In partnership with the Sr. Director of Corporate and Event Development, help build and grow NYPR’s corporate philanthropy program while identifying and cultivating corporate prospects and partners. This will include event sponsorship, employee giving, corporate volunteerism, corporate social responsibility partnerships and cause marketing. Develop and steward corporate partnerships that support NYPR’s annual gala and other initiatives, including sponsorships, cause marketing collaborations, employee engagement opportunities, and corporate social responsibility partnerships. Support initiatives that engage corporate partners in NYPR’s broader fundraising efforts, including peer-to-peer campaigns and mission-driven events.
Gala & Event Development Lead the planning and execution of NYPR’s annual gala, working with the Sr. Director of Corporate and Event Development and other internal and external stakeholders to achieve financial goals and produce best-in-class event experience. Identify and develop opportunities to expand gala revenue, including corporate sponsorships, leadership gifts, auctions, paddle raises, and other fundraising activations. Enhance - and introduce new - on-site gala revenue opportunities, included but not limited to auctions, paddle raise, corporate partnership and After Party. Work closely with Sr. Director, Corporate and Event Development to grow, manage, and mobilize the gala committee and key volunteer leadership to drive attendance, sponsorship, and giving. Collaborate closely with members of the Philanthropy team in the production of key stewardship events. Collaboration: Work closely with the Corporate and Events team and colleagues across Development to identify and pursue corporate partnership opportunities that support NYPR’s fundraising goals. Support the launch of peer-to-peer fundraising, with a focus on driving corporate engagement. Analyze portfolio performance against annual and multi-year plans and execute multi-year growth strategies. Ensure full compliance with donor acknowledgment, recognition standards, and reporting requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, sponsorship development, or related fields. Experience in nonprofit development, corporate social responsibility, media sponsorship, brand partnerships, or cause marketing strongly preferred. Demonstrated success securing or managing corporate sponsorships, partnerships, or fundraising revenue connected to events or campaigns. Experience working with corporate sponsorships or partnerships at the $25K+ level preferred. Experience managing volunteer leadership or gala committees to achieve defined financial outcomes. Experience collaborating with internal teams and external partners to support successful fundraising events. Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee complex timelines, competing priorities, and external vendors. Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the professionalism to engage high-net-worth individuals and corporate partners. Proficiency in donor database management and fundraising platforms (Salesforce and Classy/GoFundMe Pro experience a plus) Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams in brand-sensitive environments. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for events. A passion for public media and a commitment to advancing NYPR’s mission through flagship fundraising growth.
