About this opportunity
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS seeks an organized, collaborative and relationship-driven fundraiser to join our development team as Individual Giving Coordinator. In this role, you'll support and engage a portfolio of donors and prospects, help build authentic relationships and contribute to meaningful pathways for people to deepen their connection to Broadway Cares’ work. You’ll also support and mentor the next generation of fundraisers by helping to manage our development fellowship program. This position reports directly to the senior development officer and works closely with the director of development and the full individual giving team to strategize, coordinate, implement and expand Broadway Cares’ individual giving program.
Duties and Responsibilities
Portfolio management & donor engagement
- Manage and grow support with a portfolio of approximately 250 donors and prospects who give or have the capacity to give $1,000+ annually
- Ensure that donors and prospects in your portfolio deepen their connection to Broadway Cares’ overall mission, keeping them informed about Broadway Cares events and other volunteer and fundraising opportunities to increase their overall support and commitment
- Identify donors in your portfolio that have more potential to give and create a personalized engagement strategy
- Regularly connect with donors in person, via Zoom, phone and email to steward and solicit support
- Record notes and actions into Raiser’s Edge/NXT database, ensure accuracy of records and assist with tracking success and challenges
- Work with the development analytics associate to oversee donor acknowledgements and listings for online and print publications
- Draft solicitation and acknowledgement letters, as well as occasional foundation grant proposals
Events & special programs
- Work with the individual giving team to plan and execute donor stewardship events and oversee invitations to these events
- Assist with administrative and logistical support for Broadway Cares’ Leadership Council, including scheduling, tracking engagement and managing communications
- Participate with the full staff in facilitating Broadway Cares’ Red Buckets fundraising appeals on Broadway and Off-Broadway, which take place evenings and on weekends for two six-week periods in the spring and fall
- Be available to participate in person in numerous evening and weekend events and meetings
Fellowship program support
- Manage the development fellowship program, providing fellows with mentorship, guidance, feedback and customized professional development opportunities to assist them in reaching their career goals

- Commitment to the mission of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS
- 1-2 years of fundraising experience, preferably with a focus on individual giving
- Proven track record of soliciting and securing gifts of $250+
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to successfully maintain and utilize database systems; Raiser’s Edge a plus
- Proficiency in Google Drive and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Slack and Canva a plus
- Ability to problem solve with effective follow-through
- Personal drive, initiative and creative thinking
- Willingness to assist, support and do whatever needs to be done for all fundraising events and in the work environment
- Grant-writing experience helpful but not required
- An appreciation for theater and the performing arts
- An affection for dogs
