Executive Director, Business Development - Patient Access This senior leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to drive strategic growth within the patient access and support services sector of the pharmaceutical industry. As Executive Director of Business Development, you will lead initiatives that expand market presence, secure high-value partnerships, and accelerate commercial success across a defined territory. The position focuses on building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across biopharma organizations while identifying opportunities for innovative patient support programs and service solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop winning proposals, shape go-to-market strategies, and deliver impactful solutions that enhance patient access and engagement. This role is ideal for a strategic sales leader who thrives in complex environments and has a deep understanding of pharmaceutical commercialization, market access, and patient support services. Accountabilities: Develop and execute long-term business development strategies to expand market share and generate sustainable revenue growth within the assigned territory. Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities related to patient access services, reimbursement programs, clinical support solutions, and technology-enabled patient engagement platforms. Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders across biopharma companies, consulting firms, and industry stakeholders. Lead the full sales lifecycle including prospecting, opportunity development, proposal management, contract negotiations, and closing strategic deals. Collaborate closely with internal teams across operations, marketing, pricing, product development, and implementation to create compelling proposals and successful client engagements. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging industry trends, growth opportunities, and new service offerings. Manage RFI and RFP processes, coordinate proposal development, and participate in bid defense presentations. Deliver strategic presentations to clients and industry audiences at conferences, meetings, and events. Monitor sales performance, develop forecasts, and assess business risks to ensure alignment with annual revenue and growth targets. Contribute to strategic planning initiatives and provide insights to senior leadership regarding market expansion, partnerships, and growth opportunities. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a scientific, healthcare, or business-related discipline; advanced degrees are a plus. Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare services industry. At least 10 years of experience in business development, sales leadership, or commercial strategy roles within healthcare services or pharmaceutical support organizations. Strong knowledge of patient access programs, reimbursement services, hub services, specialty pharmacy, and patient support solutions. Deep understanding of pharmaceutical commercialization, drug development processes, market access strategies, and reimbursement frameworks. Proven ability to generate and manage a strong sales pipeline while consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets. Established network and relationships within biopharma organizations, consulting firms, and healthcare stakeholders. Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to influence senior decision-makers. Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities with experience evaluating market trends and developing growth strategies. Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and lead complex deal negotiations in a dynamic industry environment.
