New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) is an award-winning not-for-profit agency in Midtown Manhattan, with a satellite Bronx office, dedicated to serving children and families with medical complexity, chronic health conditions, significant disabilities and behavioral challenges. To assist in achieving this mission, NAC is currently seeking a Donor Relations and Database Manager to join its Development team. The development team raises approximately 6 million dollars annually through a combination of private and government grants, individual giving, and a NYC based gala. The team prides itself in having a deep understanding of, and passion for NAC’s mission, and is excited to welcome the right person into this position.

The Donor Relations and Database Manager will work collaboratively with all members of the Development team. They will manage the donor database (Donor Perfect) and ensure excellent data integrity while supporting the overall fundraising, gift processing, communications and events management efforts of the agency. They will also work closely with the Director of Development on donor analysis, donor communications, and establishing a coherent moves management approach to individual gift cultivation and stewardship.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Manage Donor Perfect database, including gift/donor data entry, donor information review and clean up, and ensuring strong data integrity/accuracy.
  • Oversee all gift processing, including gift/donor entry in Donor Perfect; write and merge timely acknowledgments to all donors; and work with the Executive Assistant and Fiscal Department on reconciling donations from various fundraising campaigns.
  • Provide the Development Director, Executive Director and Board of Directors with donor giving histories, donation analytics and financial reporting as needed
  • Manage mailings and donor segmentation for fundraising campaigns and events.  
  • Collaborate with other members of the Development team in execution of special events (NAC’s Annual Gala, Women’s Luncheon and other smaller cultivation events), including logistical support, list segmentation for strategic outreach, event registration, and day-of event execution.
  • In conjunction with the Development Director increase departmental focus on individual donor cultivation and programming, including individual giving analysis and strategy, communications, prospect research, and development of a robust major gifts pipeline and moves management.
  • Assist Development team members with new and ongoing projects and initiatives as necessary.


Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented and precise.
  • A minimum of two years of non-profit, fundraising, and/or database experience, along with an interest in health and social services for children and families.

Required Skills:

  • Must have excellent administrative and computer skills, and above average competency in Microsoft Excel and Word for mail merging and spreadsheets.
  • Proficiency in Donor Perfect software or similar platforms is required.
  • Must have excellent communication, verbal and written, skills along with an aptitude for data analysis.
  • Must possess a comfort level with multi-tasking and enjoy collaborating with others.
